*Official* South Africa in Bangladesh: Two Test Series, 21-25 Oct, 29 Oct-2 Nov 2024

I think it's important we have a test opener who sets the tone and if he gets in can dominate and get on top of a bowling attack. I don't think we have anyone else who can do it like Markram. So I guess we have to live by the inconsistencies until we have someone absolutely knocking the door down.

Our batsmen couldn't ask for better conditions to fill their boots.

Sounds like Paterson and Muthusamy are playing.

Vintcent Van Der Bijl vs Eddie Barlow vs Clive Rice

Very different batting positions but I actually think him and Rice had similar mentalities.

Vintcent Van Der Bijl vs Eddie Barlow vs Clive Rice

Eddie Barlow brought that bravado and confidence. Famous for the upper-cut shot over the slips. Weren't too many guys opening in test cricket willing to take that shot on his era. He was an impact player & took the same approach with his bowling. Never wanted the game to meander along. But then...

    Best SA ODI Pacers

That is quite something. I don't why, it's just going from memory I guess that it felt like Morkel was tougher to attack in limited overs cricket. But it's perhaps unfair on Dale who bowled up front and death a lot of the time.

    Best SA ODI Pacers

Fanie had a very good slower ball and yorker which he used well at the back end of innings. Would have gone to the 1992 CWC over Tertius Bosch I reckon if he wasn't injured. Donald, Fanie, Pringle, Snell isn't bad at all. Unluckily didn't play much in the 1996 CWC because the team/squad was...

Should also add how good it was seeing Oliver Whitehead's debut the other night. The way he fielded and the ball kept coming to him , you just feel he is meant for this stage at least. Confidence. L Pretorius Titans S Stolk Titans R Pillay Dolphins O Whitehead WP D Marais Easterns N Zuma KZN...

    South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

T20 Final today Lions v Titans I love to trying to see the next level of talent coming through & in Pretorius & Maphaka much like in the U19 CWC earlier this year, they are proving what talents they are. Hendricks, Hamza, Vd Dussen, Van Buuren, Esterhuizen, Potgieter, Jones, Fortuin, Sipamla...

    South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

There is a game against England Lions whilst they are here. I see Freddie Flintoff has roped in Neil McKenzie and Dale Steyn to help with coaching. New Zealand: Moore, Petersen, Hamza, van Tonder, de Swardt, Fortuin SA A v Sri Lanka: Breetzke, Brevis, Brand, Ackerman, Du Plessis, Qeshile...

    South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

They've given Oliver Whitehead a debut in his place in a SF in effect. Taken a worldie catch, a wicket in his first over & batting is his main strength.

    South Africa team selection

I think we back the same team. In a way it's good to see all these batsmen get another go. Should also add. Not been impressed by Bedingham's dismissals in the Windies and here. But we got to remember how few tests he has played along with Stubbs, Rickelton & Breetzke. Even De Zorzi but has...
