*Official* West Indies Tour of England, JULY 9th to 25th, 2024-- 3 TEST MATCHES

Couple of more overs from Bashir and it might need to be.

Minimal foot movement by most of them as well.

I think they batted at 4 and 5 for Windwards this year.

McKenzie will be looking forward to getting back to the Caribbean, no way can he play against South Africa. Reminds me of Kirk Edwards troubles in England.

Windies Team Discussion, and Other Related Things Thread

I would bring Imlach in for McKenzie and Motie in for Sinclair or Shamar Joseph depending on conditions. Windies have a test series against South Africa coming up in a couple of weeks and Joseph has went off a few times now with cramp and you can tell he's played little cricket since Australia...

Nice of them to run about like blue-arsed flys for a good part of this test then.

Making Bashir look like a poor man's Murali.

I agree with penalty runs, I would like them to consider reducing the offending team to 10 players when fielding for the amount of overs lost the next day or next innings. Just on penalty runs, on a day like today when both teams have been fielding who do you penalise most, do you go by the rpo?

Think that's bad, at the darts they sing a song about ex-footballers Yaya and Kolo Toure.

Captain strikes with the wicket of Athanaze, good innings. Holder gets a boundary off his 1st delivery.

Yeah, he played as a keeper-batsman in the couple of games he played for Yorkshire last year. If Kemol Savory replicates his form next season then JDS will find himself under a bit of pressure. Good session for the West Indies, a bit more intent shown and hopefully these two can go on.

I believe Haynes had talks with Bell-Drummond last year, nothing appears to have developed off it. There is King, Carty and Ambris who played in the domestic fc tournament this year, I'm not sure what King's injury status is. Kevin Wickham is another although he has only started out his career...

To be fair he took himself out of selection for the domestic fc season after being overlooked for the white-ball side, no word on if he will be back. Brandon King should be there though.

You can always trust the Windies to give away a wicket after a drinks break.

Cautious but better by Brathwaite and Louis so far, not getting as bogged down as the 1st test.

He scored a couple of 50s in his short time at Yorkshire last year as well. Hasn't played any fc cricket since.

Brandon King played some fc cricket in the domestic season so he appears to have made himself available, Shai Hope has said he wants to play some red ball cricket before playing tests again. Pooran is probably the only other white ball player who West Indies would slot into a test XI at the minute.

This happened tour before last when they got hammered in the 1st test and managed to win the 2nd. Not going to happen this time round.

The backup options being McCaskie and Imlach doesn't offer any difference in experience either.
