Only when Namibia can put out their best XI with them all fit at the same time. Seems a long time since we've seen that team take the field.

    Help for emerging nations

I love watching cricket at this level and have been following Namibia for a while now without any connection at all to the country. I’d be happy to offer whatever services I can (hard to think what I can actually offer though).

Henry out with a niggle. Is Tim Southee made of teflon?

Yeah. Much less than I was hoping to get. Bugger. Dire financial straits at the old Cheesecake.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Interesting to see Nick Greenwood getting a bowl. Wellington haven't used him in that role much in the past, though I also see he's been bowling a lot more for Jersey too of late. Perhaps it's a way for him to solidify his place in the team? I guess we'll see over the next few months.

Waqar all day long and all night too. No finer bowler to watch in their prime, as the OP states. Waqar’s prime was pretty much unparalleled in my mind.

Added a link to my previous post. ‘Aggressive pace bowler’ is the synopsis. Haven’t seen him myself though, so don’t know the reality of that. One of the Auckland brigade might know more.

Think he’s transferred from Auckland if I remember names from provincial A teams correctly. https://www.blazefirebirds.co.nz/news-articles/yahya-zeb-joins-firebirds-contracts-list Yep. Sounds interesting. Didn’t bag a game for Auckland last year despite being on their contracts list, mind...

Mitchell's form is a fair worry tbh. He's flown under the radar a bit as others have been struggling more, but he hasn't scored a Test ton since March 2023. And not just that, but he used to be a very safe pair of hands and he's clearly been having a case of the old dropsies of late. Worth...

New Zealand doom and gloom thread

It would be joyous to be able to revel in a victory without any caveats. In fact, **** it, I'm ****ing off to have a couple of celebratory beers, download some dodgy highlights and bask in it and not let the old cynicism get the better of me for once.

Drop Mitchell or Blundell. Or more likely just not risking Williamson.

Exactly Steve. On the money as ever. A win despite Stead, one might think.
