    I'm probably just being sentimental when it comes to Wagner and find it a bit of a shame that he's just fading away now into retirement. Especially as seeing him have his final Test against his birth country would have been a nice end to his career.

    Seems that way doesn't it - given what Wagner has given, it seems pretty disrespectful for him to not to get a farewell Test. He's one of NZs ATG Test bowlers I think.

    I know I fall into that category, but now, even I find it hard to say Crowe is the better batsman over Kane. I think it's due to growing up in the era when Crowe was at his peak and him playing against ATG bowling attacks that gives me rose coloured glasses in some ways.

    Haha yeah, completely wrong call by me. Jordan are continuing to surprise everyone. Iran probably the favourties to take out the tournament now I imagine, but maybe Qatar can spring a surprise as well.

    Reminds me when Brian Lara said he ranked Wasim Akram as the best bowler he faced by a mile, and we all know the collection of fantastic bowlers Lara faced through-out his career. Bumrah as you say, no where near Akram, as yet anyway like you say.

    Shame to see the Aussies knocked out, they missed so many clear-cut goal opportunities. Really lack a clinical goal scorer. Hope Korea go on and win it now.

    I totally agree, and think this SA line-up is massively under-rated as I suggested in a previous post. I'd almost be tempted to say SA go in as slight favourites. I'm predicting 1-1 with SA taking the 1st Test.

    This SA team really has nothing to lose, they're expected to lose and come in with little to no pressure on them. Given its not exactly a rookie side, and the bulk of the squad has a lot of first-class cricket behind them, perhaps they shouldn't be written off.

    Good point with Ravindra, but with the way Phillips has bowled for us recently, I think we'd get enough out of him with the ball rather than playing Santner. And in NZ conditions, him and Ravindra would only need to bowl roughly 10 overs between them during a day.

    That's true, was more mentioning it as an option to try and get a WC in New Zealand. But I can't imagine the ICC/BCCI allowing a T20/ODI WC to be hosted solely in NZ due to the TV rights/timezone issue if matches were played during the day/early evening. Yeah, you'd have to get the government...

    The Australian Open seems to have games running until the early AM. Could you start a T20 game at say 9pm/10pm local time in NZ to accommodate the timezone issue ?
