    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

It is. But not to most people and media

Sir I. V. A. Richards vs Sir Walter Hammond

Just remember Andrew Strauss is knighted

    Jack Hobbs vs Sachin Tendulkar

I mean, it's not the same if Tendulkar makes a team and so does Banger; even if Banger have better opinions.

    Len Hutton vs Viv Richards

Saying Viv "easily" is a huge disservice to Hutton. On revision, I now rate Hutton above both Viv and Sunny.

Tests cricket : Average vs Economy Rate vs Strike Rate

In Tests, the importance of SR and Eco isn't anywhere close to Average.

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

Lack of impactful/iconic matches imo. ODIs kinda demands those more than just stats, though 90s was the time when JAMODIS weren't jammed like now.

Viv vs Lara vs Smith: Who has the best series performances?

As I said, Smith faced a tougher attack in India, but it's hard to look past that consistency.

    Airplane Ticket Draft

@Jarquis I am sorry. It was midnight here when you were skipped and it was bought to my attention by Teuton when I came back online. Given the last player you needed was a keeper, I didn't saw any point in asking someone to withdraw their pick who hasn't taken one. So when Bitmap took Marsh, I...

Viv vs Lara vs Smith: Who has the best series performances?

Doesn't really have the results to back him up completely there. Not only Viv, but WI batting unit as a whole did quite well vs Australia. And like, saying the series would be rated higher had Lillee averaged 10 runs less shan't be controversial at all.

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

I think if Flintoff or especially Kapil comes it should be at 7 not 6 where I would prefer a batsman, actually a finisher; one among Dhoni or Bevan. Think Dhoni is the better bat to begin with; add in have a fair few openers above Gilly and his captaincy, and he is a sure shot in mine.

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

Kohli should bat at 3 and Viv at 4. Viv batted down the order more often than 3 while Kohli seldom did after his initial days. Also feel their respective games suit those positions more.

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

I have two set-ups: A: Sachin Jayasuriya Kohli Viv ABD Dhoni+* Klusener Akram Garner McGrath Murali B: Sachin Lara Kohli Viv ABD Dhoni+* Kapil Pollock Akram McGrath/Garner Murali

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

I am on the fence on him. Have two set-ups, makes one doesn't the other.

Viv vs Lara vs Smith: Who has the best series performances?

When did I exactly said Viv doesn't deserves credit for that series, or any other WI bat. I would rate that series ahead of both of Smith's. Just that the Aussie attack seemed way better than their returns suggests. And the fact I, alongside probably most others, would rate that series even...

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

Given top 4 is universal; Akram, Hadlee, Pollock, Garner are some tough dudes to topple, especially considering both the formats. Especially Pollock got way underrated in this thread till now.

Had already made the edit with Shami before your comment, forgot him initially...... FdV is a personal favourite of mine.

Viv vs Lara vs Smith: Who has the best series performances?

Can't it be that because the bowler performed poorly the opposition dominated?? Like Ashwin/Bumrah in the recent NZ series.

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

Given around equal weightage (55-45 for Tests, the lowest I can go): Sachin Tendulkar Viv Richards Glenn McGrath Mutthiah Muralitharan Wasim Akram Richard Hadlee Shaun Pollock Joel Garner Adam Gilchrist Imran Khan Brian Lara Allan Donald Curtly Ambrose Ricky Ponting Kapil Dev Waqar Younis Shane...
