    Yeah I think it's perfectly reasonable to look at these two and think "They're close but Ponting gets the edge for his higher ceiling." I don't get the "These guys aren't in the same league" takes.

    Hard agree. Kallis may have scored all those thousands of runs in harder conditions at a better average while in a worse team and having to bowl as well. But he was such a beta. The SA fans here should feel ashamed of both him and themselves.
