English Domestic Season 2025

Blenkinsop

U19 Captain
Spent the day at Old Trafford. Nice to see Northants holding their own against one of the more fancied Div 2 sides. Lancs were strangely flat and subdued in the field. Their spinners kept a lid on the scoring but never really looked threatening. Justin Broad bowled a superb spell. His figures were slightly dented by a six from Jennings, but it wasn't a controlled shot, it was hit straight to the man on the boundary and only just cleared him.

It's been years since I went to OT, it's sadly soulless and corporate now.

A big chase ahead for Kent, but with lots of time in hand, looking forward to seeing how Crawley approaches it lol
Doing ok so far but the chance to select McKinney must be irresistible at the moment. Kent allowed Middlesex to score too much second dig though. Can't see them chasing this.

Dom Bess gets a century batting at three! Get some form back with the ball, please.

And Rehan Ahmed opens AGAIN and scores 77 from 59 in the second innings.

I’d love to see McKinney in the team now, but there are a few things I’d say that are Crawley’s favour over McKinney right now, firstly are that he’s a right-hander (although the comical height difference with Duckett would still exist!), that there is practically no bedding in period before two of the toughest tests in world cricket with just a single Test against Zimbabwe (many of whom he faced the other day in pre-season where he hit an unbeaten 80) before India come, and that Crawley did well the last time he faced India and Australia. With Bethell unlikely to play against Zimbabwe due to his IPL ‘commitments’, maybe there’s a spot at number 3 for McKinney if there isn’t one at the top of the order

Looks a good track there, so seems a smart move to promote Ahmed to the top in search of quick runs to move the game on. Batted up at 3 away in India and Pakistan so he clearly likes it up the order!
