Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

Agreed - been a far better side against everyone in Dubai

Disagree. The average scores in Pakistan vs here have been a lot higher and pace was more of a factor. Either they'd have to adjust their XI to suit or they'd be more tested defending or chasing a total. Not saying they'd be rubbish, but don't think the location and pitches doesn't matter at all (nevermind the atmosphere of basically having a home crowd).
Its basically IND conditions.

Whatever it takes!!!
Look guys, I get pissed off at the attacks on the team from some of the posters, heck even the BCCI sometimes, as I think its unfair when it was voted on and agreed by the ICC (and lets face it, even if India did travel to Pak, they would have basically played every game in Lahore).

But I really dont think this team is that good at all. We definitely lucked out with the conditions favoring spin and no dew in Dubai. This team is not winning **** outside the SC. There is a lot of work to be done with this side to make it even top 4 material for the 2027 WC in RSA. I definitely acknowledged we have lucked out with the conditions, I just dont think its fair to keep blaming the players, management or even the BCCI for it esp. when this was all decided beforehand. I dont think anyone would have given this a second thought had we stunk up the joint like we did in the 2021 T20 WC.

Both things can be true though; i.e. the players not having a say in it, but also playing all their games in one location gives a team an advantage. They're not mutually exclusive.

You guys are missing bumrah and haven't had a close call all tournament. Harshit bowled fine when he played and Arshdeep is quality. You guys would have been fine in any conditions. Not this dominant mind you, but still easily favourites.

I think you just have to give credit to India here, they're in red hot form in all aspects (minus their fielding). I don't think it would have mattered who we replaced Henry with.
Yeah India have played well but let's not pretend they haven't had a big advantage playing all their games in Dubai on a pitch that is suited to them.

A fitting end to the tournament if India wins , what an absolute farce , India is a good team they don't need all these scheduling advantages that they had in the T20 WC and this Champions Trophy

I literally accepted they definitely have the advantage. Its just the attacks on them that I feel distasteful.

I was going to save this rant for after India win so the Indian fans could get the full effect and joy of calling me salty (entirely justified) but I'll give it to you early: Indian players are really missing out here, and the fans. The ICC is ****ing weak. As soon as BCCI pushed to not play in Pakistan it should've just been a hard no, and if India decided to not play, all their games should've been forfeit. Whats the ****ing point of giving hosting rights to a nation if other countries boards can just refuse to turn up and then play all their games at one venue with conditions more like their home country than the one they'd be touring. It's an absolute farce. And the victory for India here will be a lot more hollow because they haven't been tested as much as they should. The India vs Pakistan game broke all sorts of viewership records, but ultimately, how good would it have been for Pakistan to host that match?

So yeah, **** the ICC for being a bunch of spineless cowards. NZ and England didn't get to play those '03 WC games they had concerns about at a neutral venue with familiar conditions, they forfeited. Pakistan has been doing the work and most countries have toured there in recent times, and if you don't want to send your players, you shouldn't get special treatment imo. Absolute rubbish end to the tournament, where the host country doesn't host the final.

**** shot given who the fielder was. Really want to see "Viru" Jaiswal get an extended go though so might go some way towards that

Hah, if nothing else glad at least Phillips is able to sign off this tournament with one of those.

Yeah but I have zero faith in our batting in those conditions. Hopefully once we have Jaiswal partnering Gill, it can get better.
