  • Happy birthday Cribb! I'd make you a thread but they seem to have gone out of fashion.
Cheers. It only ever happened to me once before the vBuliten upgrade, so I'd assume it's related to that.
Cribb I've sent this to James but he hasn't got back to me yet, since you're online I was wondering if you had any ideas. Ever since vBuliten was upgraded there have been certain threads where the "view first unread" option doesn't work. The Forumers Ashes thread being the best one I can think of at the moment. It just goes to the correct page but the full new post link isn't there, so it just stops on the page. It doesn't even have a mark on the unread posts (you know, the where the little page marker is a different colour) like usual. I've tried all the ways to get to a new post, and none of them work. It hasn't been a problem really up till now, as it's only happened in a few threads, but so far it's happening in the second match thread in the Ashes subbie, which will make the thread really hard to follow. Do you have ideas on what I could do, or what could be done, to fix the problem?
Hey Cribb, what are you waiting for in the Continuous Comp weekly waiver? Surely you can unearth a couple of gems instead of someone like Dayne Weston?
man i feel like uvelocity in the slowness stakes in that i've only just noticed i got an infraction for that picture
Yeah, the English pyramid splits into North and South at the 6th level and gets more and more regional the lower down you go. So it would make sense to take that sort of approach if Oz ever went down that route.

I remember league going to a franchise system and fans of some of the clubs outside super league ranting about it on the North West news. When you have an entrenched system it's always going to be difficult to implement.
I guess everything about England makes the pyramid much more feasible than elsewhere, with the fact that there are towns every few miles and even the longest journey is probably an 8 or 9 hour drive. Wouldn't seem quite so feasible for lower league sides to hav to travel thousands of miles!

Nice explanations again anyway. Interesting thoughts. Easier for me to relate to what you say than a lot of people though as its not as though supporting your hometown club is mandatory. Hence the popularity of Man U/Liverpool etc.
Ha, never expected such a thorough reply. Appreciate it.

As you know I'm a lifelong supporter of a third tier football club so killing the pyramid would kill football for me. I still live the dream that one day we'll make it up there (clue - we won't)

I get what you say about regions though. There was a game this season where we had 8 lads fom Merseyside on the pitch, 5 of them from Wirral (the bit of Merseyside that's not Liverpool, basically) and we were buzzing with pride. Irony is we'd probably be more successful on the whole if there were regional rules, especially if we were still allowed players from Liverpool.
'I really like the English football pyramid'

Always thought you were anti-relegation for some reason
haha, you had mentioned FEroz rawther and I had reported FIroz rawther who is banned now :p. Firoz was Feroz's multi and hadn't been banned at least until the time that I reported him
England at 2/5 is a good price from here, no? Surely they're nailed on to win the game now.
Hey Prince, could you tell me why so many of the banned ex-members are so pissed off? I got a message yesterday from jodhpurteja and today from tooextracool, both abusing mods. tooextracool claims to be 'bhupinder singh'. Know him?
Hey mate, keen to catch up this weekend? Go to a game or to a pub or something.
I have young kids, so I tend to try to get to sleep round 9-10pm. Otherwise I'm too grumpy.

The weird thing is I really need sleep, but I cant sleep when I want to.
I think I have some form of insomnia. Regardless of when I go to bed, I tend to wake up at 3-4am!
