  • I read the article. Good read. One thing I'll say is while I don't really regard a voluntary agreement between two parties to be exploitative in the first place.. even if it was, I'm not sure it's really a positive thing to have strict controls over 457 exploitation to the point of foreign workers just not being hired here, and then being exploited even more in their original countries instead. If you think low pay is exploitative, I think making sure these people aren't low paid in general should be the aim rather than just "not in my neighbourhood".
I'm glad you're pro 457 visas. I got into an argument with a big group of lefties on Facebook the other day who were all opposed to them. It's one of those issues where trade unioinism and progressivism aren't really compatible, and sadly in Australia trade unionisim tends to win out politically in those situations. I couldn't seem to convince them that Australians weren't actually more important than Chinese people.. which seemed weird for people who were pro-foreign aid and pro-open borders. Mostly I think they were just partisan hacks looking for a reason to criticise Abbott over the free trade agreement, but it struck me that it's an issue some leftists are really inconsistent on in general for some reason.
i mean it's fairly obvious given that it's a straight copy of a post you made earlier on :P
I'll drop you a line when you're up. Hoping for either tomorrow morning or Thursday morning Aus time.
Hey man, I read that Police in the US are now allowed to put cameras in anyone's house. I also read the Privacy Act in Australia doesn't count for normal people. Does that mean my neighbor can survey me and use the footage/pictures whenever they want?
Yo man, hope all is well. Are you on Fb/Linkedin/iMessage?

If not I'll just throw you some questions/messages on here I guess aha
Please see tour thread for your avatar as I don't seem to be able to post links on your wall.
Hey ****, I did a |Neil Harman joke knowing you'd be the only one who'd get it. Honestly I practically contribute on here for you. Well a couple of posts in many thousands, nut still....
Yeah, if India had a WWF equivalent, they would be Test around the time he was meant to get married to Stephanie McMahon. And every other time he was given a push.
Just typed Kohli and my autocorrect suggested knoblike. I **** you not.
