The other issue is that GWS are pathetic. How they didn't offer him a deal that just smashed Sydney out of the water is beyond belief. Just offer him 10 million over 6 years or something. They only have themselves to blame.

It will be to the long term detriment of Sydney. I personally can't see him playing past 32/33. So let's say that's five years, the swans then have an option of delisting him and paying him out the remaining 4.5m in the one season and absolutely crippling their salary cap for that year, or they will be able to keep him on the list and pay him the 1.2m a season or whatever it is, with him not playing, so they've got an A graders salary on the books but no A grader. Either way they have to win a premiership or two in the next few years or they're ****ed.
