  • Pick the batsman, tbh. I was going through my options during my last pick in the 50/60s, and it struck me how few excellent batsmen there were left in that era. Made the 90/00s seem so much more desirable for the players that were remaining.
Well, Chanderpaul's the best of the three options, although Pietersen could be better depending who else is on your batting line-up. If you want a more aggressive player, then Pietersen. Otherwise, Chanders.
lol, the new order's been posted already! You've got 7 picks until your next turn.
Sorry, yeah, meant 'would go'. Asif has had a short career so far, and that druggie taint. I wouldn't go for him at this point in history, especially since gilespie's available too.
Would take Gillespie myself. Vaas I'd want as more of a new-ball bowler, Asif and Ntini aren't nearly good enough to bat No 9 and Gillespie spent much of his career bowling as a first-change and would provide some solid defence down the order. Obviously unless you'd rather move Laker and Waqar up one, in which case I'd take Asif.
You could go Pietersen/Thorpe too, assuming Pietersen's played them. Anwar is a good choice as opener among those left.
Of those bowlers, wouldn't go either Gillespie or Ntini or Streak, in that order. Streak definitely the best batsman, but doesn't seem to be rated at all here for some reason.
I've sort of written him off for the game anyway, Koscielny with a debut at Anfield and our keeper situation really worries me.

Something tells me Arsene sees Djourou as first choice and Koscielny as first backup too which means we'd be signing a no mark 4th choice guy again. Lot to be nervous about for tonight really.
He really should be playing today. Guy barely played all World Cup ands should be backing up for this one despite the plane trip. Really hope the little guy hasn't checked out already.
Yeah, I plan n posting a bit more when it starts. This whole Fabianski as our number 1 thing scares me ****less though.
