    That's a good question and I don't have a good answer to it to be honest. It's just the approach we've always taken which doesn't necessarily mean it's the best option now. If the mods and the community at large are in favour of a different approach, I think it's certainly something worth...

    Unfortunately not possible no, a forum is either writable or read-only. There's nothing in-between as far as I'm aware or can see. I do wonder though whether threads within a tournament/series particular sub-forum should be merged into Cricket Chat afterwards rather than archived away.
