  • I'd prefer to keep it going here because I'm not sure I fancy starting things up all over again. It's just a shame that guys who were previously active don't visit the forums anymore (i.e. Simon).
Any ideas how to get activity up or more people in? Or do you reckon they'll eventually come flocking back to it like it's Jesus.
Was there not an issue with TSF too? Or am I wrong on that one?
Just IIRC Rego wasn't the only one to be shown the door, so while he's not the best example he's not the only one. It's pretty dire IMO and I'm waiting for the day when somebody tells him where to put it.
Not entirely sure why the Saders were so desperate to have him, I get he's active and brings a fresh look but he's as bad as I used to be when it comes to whinging, half the time. He sulks like a toddler if something doesn't go his way and he has a generally inflated sense of self-importance IMO.
He's a great guy if you get on well with him but otherwise he's an absolute 'sook'
Yeah, I don't really like what he's done and too often he acts like a spoilt brat IMO. The Colesy/Muesli pinching, the way he wouldn't release Ritchie even though he had been released Muesli and was demanding that Vago be released. The way that Rego was rather forcefully ushered towards the door despite having a contract. Not the first time either IIRC, somebody else also got punted to make room in your squad for another poached player I seem to recall.
If you'd joined the Ravens subforum would've been great and out depth wouldn't be bad either! Would've just left players like Chung with basically no route to BS seemingly though.
Maybe you'll find yourself back one day anyway :)
Yeah, I'd have loved to have you at the Magpies - as you know.
As seen in the OD activity rankings the place is active like I said it would be
Just the whole 'loyalty' thing meant it wouldn't have been fair on you as a player or the current players we have. Paddy would've been batting 6 and bowling 5 in ALC for example.
    Ritchie's a gun. Athers not so much :ph34r;
That alternate IP I gave you isn't even working for me anymore, so I suggest you take it out of your hosts file.

Still haven't got around to talking to Stevil yet, but I will next time I see him online.
Try changing the 64.57.208.81 in your hosts file to 64.57.210.236. You'll need to do all those annoying Vista-proof steps to get around the security again.
DNS problems do happen from time to time - service providers don't update their website IP lists properly so certain people can't connect to just one site - but that doesn't seem to be the problem here, as it resolves the IP correctly and still doesn't work.

If you got IP banned, you'd get a message saying such or at least a ping, as you said. I will ask Stevil (S Smith of Sticky Wickets Second XI fame); he's somewhat of a guru on this stuff.
Hmm so even if you spoon-feed it the IP, it still can't cannot to it. Odd. I'll see if there's an alternate IP you can cannot to.
Open the following file with Notepad:
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Add the following line to end of it:
    64.57.208.81 cricsim.com

Save the file to your desktop or your documents folder or wherever, but make sure you save it as just "hosts" not "hosts.txt". If you see the txt extension in its location after you've saved it, rename it so it's gone.

Finally, copy it to the location of the original file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\) - it'll ask you to confirm administrator permissions, and then ask to confirm you want to replace the original file - say yes.

Then it should work. If you had Windows XP or Windows 7 there'd be about 8 fewer steps. One of the many joys of Vista, that.
