  • Stopped in 1999. Used to be a seriously big deal (back in the 80s etc.), but as the game got more professional clubs didn't want their players doing it. Lost interest as well I think.

Interstate matches in Australian rules football - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
North Melbourne are sucking balls - basically become one of the bigger disappointments of the league. A team that should have made finals but have thrown away leads, choked in big games and now definitely won't make finals.

    Soooooooooooooo good.
Nah you misunderstood. It'd just be an easy way to see who had influence on the game. No one scores 7 goals and doesn't play a good game in AFL.
    Re: avatar - of course.

Re: players having a good game, yeah completely understand. Complicated sport. Best way to start - just look at who kicked the most goals. Jack Riewoldt kicked 7 for Richmond, which is mammoth. Its probably the equivalent to kicking 3 goals in a football (soccer) match.
Haha you posted the old (and better) Richmond logo/emblem.

Genuine fist pump when I saw your post. wag you are.
    You are a legend. Wafg.

Great win for us last night. We are 2-0 now!

Hope you managed to watch some of Jack Riewoldt (afl version of a striker) and Trent Cotchin. Both had awesome games.
But the biggest reason should be this. I know you love Rahul Dravid. Well:

Another good reason is for the first time, we are genuinely building and could be huge in a few years. We have a young guy who is on the verge of being one of, if not, the best player in the competition in a few years (Trent Cotchin), and we're also at the stage where all the planning by our new coach (hired at the start of 2010) should come together. If you did support them it would not be bandwagon jumping as we haven't made finals since 2001, but you also wouldn't be choosing a team who is going to suck badly for the next 5 years. Not that bandwagon supporting is something you should concern yourself with since you don't live in Australia so you're hardly going to be bandwagon jumping. But nevertheless, its the perfect time to support the club.
My post is too long so I have had to separate it in different posts:

We are the sleeping giant of the AFL. Absolutely mammoth and loyal fan base who have had very little success in the last 20 years. We are one of the "big 4" clubs - Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond are the traditional big 4. Hawthorn can arguably be in the category as well. This is not judged on financial reasons, but rather fan/membership base.

Our image is a contradiction. We are a team that gets made fun of a lot, due to the lack of success and the fans getting over-excited when it looks like we may be good and then fall flat. At the same time, we are also a team that everyone who doesn't support Richmond has a soft spot for, mainly because of the lack of success in recent times. We also have had a lot of very likable players.
