Plus he's younger by quite a few years.
Is that supposed to justify a £14,000,000+ transfer fee, which Carrick is never worth?
That's another thing I hate about football. The obsurd amount of money involved. If anyone thinks £10,000,000+ for a players services is worth it is an idiot. That's a huge amount of money that could be going to something useful, but isn't. The salaries are huge. The ticket prices are extortionate. For an adult to go see 90 minutes worth of Portsmouth vs. Blackburn, two distinctly average Premiership sides, on a week on Saturday, it would cost between £28 and £37. On the other hand, an adult could pay £40 to go to Lords for the C&G Trophy Final or £16 to stand on the terraces and watch St Helens vs. Leeds in a top of the table clash containing internationals such as Wellens, Sculthorpe, Lyon, Long, Graham, Cunningham, Peacock, Toopi, Ellis, McGuire, Senior, etc. To see a
good Premiership side would cost even more. Oooh, it vexes me.
