So only having 1 quality striker isn't a problem then?roseboy64 said:That depends on who you ask. The real problem is the centre of midfield.
Depends if Saha gets going again really. But 2 quality strikers is still not enough over the course of a season.marc71178 said:So only having 1 quality striker isn't a problem then?
yes i would have to agree, hes certainly not bad at what he does, he can tackle and pass the ball at a decent level of quality, but thats it, decent, not anything more than that. Not dynamic and wont create many chances unlike as you have perviously mentioned xavi.TT Boy said:Possibly but I have seen a lot of Carrick over the years and he has always struck me as a rather ordinary footballer, good on the ball but his actual work rate and diligence to the task can be questioned.
most of which arent any good. There are a few strikers availible in Italy...
And who is that striker? You surely can't mean Rooney? Anyway Man Utd looked best season without a striker and with two forwards, Saha and Rooney. van Nistelrooy is gonna be spent pretty soon anyway. Wouldn't mind still having him though. Rooney, Saha, Rossi, Solskjaer and possibly Smith, if they click form a potent strike force.marc71178 said:So only having 1 quality striker isn't a problem then?
Not sure it has the same ring to it as Crespo, Shevchenko, Drogba, Kalou, Robben or possibly even Berbatov, Defoe, Keane.roseboy64 said:And who is that striker? You surely can't mean Rooney? Well Luca Toni, Adriano (admittley his head wasn't screwed on), Trezeguet and co. not very good?sledger said:most of which arent any good.
If they were going to pay that amount of money why not try and sign Vieria I thought. Just imagine Arsenal's reactionTT Boy said:Carrick to Man Utd...

If the reported fee 15 million is correct, than Man Utd are at least paying ten million more than the guy is really worth. He has no pace, or positional sense, can not tackle, gives Xavi at Barcelona a run for his money as the master of the five yard pass but Xavi's passes usually go forward, Carrick's sadly go backwards.
He said most.Craig said:Well Luca Toni, Adriano (admittley his head wasn't screwed on), Trezeguet and co. not very good?
And I could name a list of mediocre, past it or unproven people and say that if they click it's a potent strike force just as easily, but it wouldn't make them actually good players.roseboy64 said:Rooney, Saha, Rossi, Solskjaer and possibly Smith, if they click form a potent strike force.
So you're saying Rooney and Saha are mediocre. Weren't you the same one saying van Nistelrooy was past it and now that he's gone the strike force is so woefully bad, wouldn't that make it better? Don't see how that adds up unless you're just trying to cover your tracks and make yourself not look stupid.marc71178 said:And I could name a list of mediocre, past it or unproven people and say that if they click it's a potent strike force just as easily, but it wouldn't make them actually good players.
