He's a better bowler than anyone there at home bar maybe Cummins and is better than Lillee in NZ (who were weak into the 70s) and Windies where Trueman won a series, Lillee also played 63% of his games in Australia, pretty comfortably in that tier.

Better than Lillee.
Disagree here, in the same tier more or less, but Lillee just ahead, not to mention his exploits in WSC.

Plus Trueman is one of the few bowlers who can't take advantage of Lillee's percentage of home games and weakness away from home.

I rate Trueman's destructive capability and home record very highly, bummer he didn't tour down under in 55/56 or I else he might've been in discussion for top 5, but if you place Lillee and Trueman side by side as you said you do, then you shouldn't have a problem with me having Freddie higher.
If he had done he'd have been very lonely, as the rest of the England team had toured there 12 months earlier.

I don't know why we decided to muck up a Lillee v Lindwall poll by throwing in Davidson.

He has completely different sets of confounding considerations which make him hard to compare, but I think in this poll he's probably only serving to suck away votes from Lindwall.

I don’t. He is however a large home track bully that significant effects his record. Imagine what we might think of say, Cummins if he had played as many of his tests at home as Trueman did!
I wouldn't be too harsh.

I mean, I'd take Trueman's record against West Indies over Lillee's so I'm not sure how I'm to judge World series Cricket, I simply think he was better than Lillee at home and in two of the three countries they could tour.

He'd have a better career than Lillee most of the time.

Really?

Don't think I've ever seen anyone rate Davidson over Lindwall.

Care to share the rationale?
I rate them around even. Probably Lindwall slightly ahead due to playing longer.

Davidson’s allround bowling record is amazing.

His career didn’t really take off until he began opening after Miller retired, and for that period he has a ridiculous record.

33 matches 171 @ 19.39 14 5’fers 2 10’fers

19.11 at home, 19.64 away. Over 5 WPM.

Career reminds me of Marshall’s in a way.

Here’s a crazy stat - played 33 of Australia’s 36 matches in that period. Imagine if he had played for England..
