there's nothing to fix, being conservative about rating a player over Elites when he has years upon years left in his career is logical.
There's conservatism and there's this disease. Really not the same thing.

Not rating Cummins over Lillee is a disease? Wow, really interesting, I guess the majority of the site is terminally ill.
It's not just about Lillee though, unless you mistyped Lindwall there for some bizarre reason. I can understand Lillee over Cummins, but there's basically like 1-2 AUS pacers to have over Cummins regardless at this point of his career.

I disagree, Lindwall has a more impressive record away from home and averaged lower than Cummins's going into his initial retirement.

Pat Cummins will surely end up close to both, maybe even better.

Davidson is top 16/17 for me ig, so close enough to be in the conversation at least.
Okay?

will "end up" close? sure, then I'll rate him close when he "ends up" close, most agree that he lost a step since the 2022-23 BGT, it's completely fine to be conservative and wary about him.

Away/Neutral combined

Lindwall: Avg 23.95 SR 61, overall pacers Avg 25.83 SR 70.4
Cummins: Avg 26.23 SR 50.5, overall pacers Avg 32.17 SR 58.0

Seems to be a case of bigger SR gap vs bigger Avg gap. Don't think it's as far apart as you seem to believe.

I mean duh, Batsmen in the 50s played more defensive Cricket than the Batsmen of modern era so naturally one would've a higher economy (Cummins) and one would've a higher strike rate (Cummins). Average is a better metric and Lindwall's superiority away in that regard is clear.
