Mike Tyson is probably the most famous sportsperson from what I have seen personally - Even those who have never seen a single match has heard his name. His name is probably synonymous with fighting(if not boxing) and I have seen his photos on gym. I have even seen dogs named after him and if someone is looking for a fight we usually ask “Stop fighting. Are you some big Tyson?” or “As if you are Tyson”. TYSON name is damn famous

In the interests of Science I'll ask my 8 year old if he knows about Michael Jordan/Ali/Tyson (he definitely knows Pele and Maradona).

Thinking about it, I dunno if he knows Sachin, so I'll have to check that too. (He knows Chris Woakes and Joe Root, obviously.)
