Flintoff. Better with both bat and ball.

He was an excellent number 5, and his batting numbers would have been even better if England didn't insist on using him as a finisher. Bit crap with the bat in WCs though

Kapil due to being the superior world cup player.
But Fred deserves extra points for the amazing Caribbean adventure, hard for Kapil to match that.

It's always hard to compare ODI in different eras based on raw stats due to changes in ODI.

One data point adjusted for era( has some flaws in my opinion),

Dev's majority of career is same as Flintoff's peak in these ratings.

Kapil's occupied rank 1 in ODI all rounder more than twice when you see number of matches. A higher rating and rankings for a far longer period.

Flintoff is not only superior to Kapil in ODIs, he's the GOAT ODI all rounder alongside Shaun Pollock.
Keeping the quality aside, he has played too few games to get that tag. He played in period when ODI was played seriously.

Flinotff was a fantastic all rounder , but played only 110-140 games. In current era, when T20 is also played seriously, it would have been enough to not seen as negative, but pre T20 era, it's too little. A high quality all rounder but lacks the number of games.

I don't really care too much as his record is stellar for what it is but I am not as big on LO longevity as I'm on test ome so I don't mind

He was fantstic all rounder but one flaw. His performance against the best team of his era was not that great.

Bowling - 21 matches - 19 wickets - Avg 42 - ER 4.8
Batting - 21 matches - 519 runs - Avg 28 - SR 75

I think Flinotoff saved his best for SA. High Avg and high SR in batting. At the same time, low bowling avg against SA. Anyway, one of the best all rounders in ODI.
