We have match winners . They aren’t getting chance . Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma are better than Gill . Gill is getting advantage because of his good looks as next face of Indian cricket.

We haven't been able to find the right replacements for Rohit and Kohli because of the below reasons.

1. We have been playing very few ODIs since the 2023 WC.
2. Rohit and Kohli have retired from T20Is. They play all the available ODIs these days as these are the only short format international games they get.

They are both still gun ODI players, but it is time to move on. They will both be retiring on a high and would be either close to 40 or past that age by the time next WC comes up. Need Jaiswal to replace Rohit and one of the other promising players to replace Kohli.

I wanna see Jaiswal and Tilak replace Ro-Ko in the next ODI series we play. They can figure out the next captain too, may well be Gill.

Also, with Jaiswal and Tilak we also get two more bowling options, even if its part time.

Not sold on Abhishek Sharma ? He can be our Travis Head

It's tough to see these things happening, as I don't see either one retiring before the 2027 WC. They're already retired from T20I, will get dropped/retired soon from tests (hopefully). So both RoKo will actually required good game time in ODIs for them to be able to play the next wc.

Yeah if they are retiring from tests as well, then ODIs and IPL will be the only cricket they end up playing. But I wanna see us rest these guys at least for the next set of ODIs we play. Need to give game time to Jaiswal and Tilak. Jaddu can be rested too. Something like this potentially considering the WC is in RSA and we need some fast bowlers.

Cant believe he said he won't retire. He's 38 and this is the best time to go out on a high.

The longer he stays, the longer he keeps Jaiswal out of the squad.

We have a readymade replacement for Rohit who is ready to dominate in white ball format. It's crazy as it is that he can't get into the T20 team. Now he's blocked from the ODI team with the presence of Rohit.

If the plan is to win the next world cup, the transition process should start now. Australia are already starting theirs with multiple veteran players announcing retirements.

Players won’t announce retirement because their brand value will go down in IPL and advertising industry. It is upto selectors to do their job
