looking forward* to all the articles praising Nottingham Forest's greatest ever season as though anything before 1992 has been retconned out of existence
I don't think anyone would be quite that stupid given their 2 European Cups, but if the season finishes tomorrow it wouldn't be completely wild to describe it as such IMO.

Tbf we did finish 3rd in 1994/95 & were the last English team in Europe in 1995/96 but of course it's the reality of the modern world & what the Premier League has become that it will be thought of as who & how by those unaware of the clubs success before 1992.

The Premier League production that I watch and goes around the world did make a fuss of ours and Leeds promotions as well. So some knowledge knocking about.

I would politely disagree. Even if we discount the two European Cup wins, winning the old First Division in 1977/78, ahead of the outstanding Liverpool team of the time, was astonishing. And that by seven points, back in the days when it was only two points for a win.

It's interesting watching back some documentaries and how much respect guys like Hansen & Souness had for us and our achievements.

Jim Beglin seems to regularly be doing Comms at City Ground games and he mentioned in the Forest v Liverpool game recently how the only game he ever won at the CG for Liverpool was as a reserve player once.

They could hardly not after Forest knocked them out in the 1st round of the European Cup in 1978/79. And there were other occasions, as well, of course.

I'm guessing that you've seen and enjoyed 'I Believe in Miracles'.

I have, yeah. Ordered the DVD when it came out. Not saying it as a Forest fan, but I think all football fans would enjoy it.

I agree with you, but I don't think it's wild to put this season (so far) up there.

This Forest season will only be truly appreciated once they drop back into the pack next season, which is inevitable.

They've done incredibly well with recruitment, Elanga and CHO stand outs but also Anderson and Dominguez have gone under the radar. I watched them v City and again was so impressed by Murillo. He's the best CB in the league that doesn't play for Liverpool or Arsenal imo.

I can see quite a few clubs trying to get their hands on him in the summer.

That said, with Nuno at the helm they should solidify themselves as a top 10 side and look to build towards consistent European places from here.
