I believe it was Bradman who rated Weekes above even Headley.

He was an exceptional batsman who didn't get to show his absolute best.

I don't have him as an ATG but not that far outside.

He was, from all reports, an exceptional slip as well.
here's some footage of the man, he's very ill at the time going through operations and medications, batting against England in England and he looks amazing.

amazing cutter/hooker/puller/flicker of the ball, and his power play with the bat speed and the sheer force is fun to watch.

He was a really classy batsman, it seems.

What reason?
from what I can see in the footage itself, obviously I'm no batting expert but just from my experience, his hook/pull shots are awesome as ****, he also flicks people like Trueman (90mph+ I reckon) so easily as if he has all the time in the world, and his big shots are very good looking, fast bat movement (tbf, more possible with old bats) and he throws so much force it looks like it'd knock him over. Not saying he's the best ever or whatever, but definitely a very excellent strokemaker to watch.

That flick off Trueman was pure class.

Where do you rank him among the sub ATGs like Barrington, Miandad, Harvey, May, Compton, Walcott, Lloyd etc?

Barrington>Compton>Weekes>Walcott>Miandad>Harvey>May>Lloyd imo, but I could go with May/Harvey over JM on other day, probably even Lloyd.

Looks a lot more hackish than I remembered tbh. Some pretty ugly heaves across the line.

Barrington is the most proven there sadly so I'd go

Barrington>~Weekes=Compton>Walcott>May>Harvey>Miandad~Lloyd Don't rate Miandad much anymore.
