It's genuinely incredible that VAR was needed for Michael Oliver to produce a red card.
How the **** is he still refereeing at the top level?
And when are Millwall's supporters going to be anything other than scum of the earth? Following their booing of Mateta on Saturday, chanting 'let him die' whilst he was receiving oxygen, and dishing out homophobic abuse at Ben Chilwell, clearly some of them thought long and hard about their behaviour. Their considered response? To stage an organised round of applause for their suspended keeper 8 minutes to last night's game as that's when the poor victim was shown the red card on Saturday. What very special people they are.

Well if he was in charge of VAR too, that would explain how Konate stayed on the pitch.

As much as Liverpool are in control, this tie definitely not over.....unlike most of the others.
50/50 call. I wouldn't have been mad either way. I prefer not to see red cards for that sort of contact. When the same thing happened to Konate in our box a few weeks ago in the lead up to the Everton equaliser I wasn't bothered by it not being a foul.

Funny how much its upset everyone else though

I think the tie is over but at the same time UCL is a free hit for us. PSG are a very good side - comfortably the best team we've played this season.

Well at least no one got red carded, or accused the referee of ruining their season, or threatened a linesman. or reacted badly to a player celebrating.....

If Slot reacts like that when he's got an 8 point lead, **** knows what happens when it's close (as more likely to be next season).

It was a foul anywhere else on the pitch. I think VAR bottled it because they couldn't work out if it was inside or outside the area.

Rest of your post indicates you're bitter so not going to bother.

Re this - maybe they just didn't think it was red card worthy. Neither did the ref.

Did amriom made mistake by taking united job thereby reducing his chances of having shot at another top European club? 🤔🧐
I think we'll only really find out what he's made of come the summer when he's going to have to make some hard decisions about who to move on apart from Sancho and Rashford. The obvious dead wood that the club has collected as well as one or two players he may need to sell to balance the books. He hasn't been dealt a good hand. The recruitment has been shocking for some time there, as is widely known.

Even if it doesn't go well, I would suggest that he is young enough to get another chance somewhere else and kick on from there.

Do you think he's shown enough to warrant giving him the power to make those decisions?

Genuine question.

Not in terms of results, of course not. But, I don’t really think they have a choice but to back him to reshape or at least attempt to do that. He does seem rather one dimensional tactically and whoever is in charge of recruiting needs to identify players who fit his system.

Amorim is a one-dimensional philosophy manager who was always going to get found out at a big club. Usual dreadful appointment from Man Utd.

As long as they don't buy specifically for him there's a chance it turns around.

He's lost the right to make demands about what he wants. Just has to work with what he's given.

I'm very interested to see what he does with Bruno and Mainoo.

I watched the Man United game back earlier today and Mainoo is really struggling to fit this Amorim system. Obviously its early but he just doesn't seem to suit the demands of the double pivot when United are the better side. He was very good against us when on the back foot and sitting deep but when forced to have possession against Saints he couldn't progress the ball effectively and killed the tempo in build up (when not giving it away).

It was telling that Eriksen made them look much better off the bench.

Given his wages and United's desperation to raise funds for transfers it will be an very interesting situation to watch unfold over the next year or so.

Feels like a Juventus or PSG player.. would be a handy back up to Vitinha and Neves
