Do teams make the following trades?

Do teams switch their players in these contexts:

2000s India switch Dravid for Botham?

70s/80s England exchanging Botham for Pollock?

Current India exchanging Bumrah for Sobers?

2010s Australia exchanging Smith for Ambrose?

90s Pakistan exchanging Wasim and Waqar for Murali and Sanga?

80s India exchanging Kapil for Walsh?

Bumrah is the first ATG level fast bowler our country has produced. I'm not giving up that for even Bradman tbh even if it doesn't make sense from a cricket perspective.
I think one can say India might need him more to win games than even a better cricketer like Sobers.

The only one I am willing to give up for Bumrah is Don.

Bumrah is a match winner regardless of the surface and I ain’t exchanging him for anyone.

Kapil Dev’s impact on Indian cricket is far bigger than just numbers. He was the single biggest reason we won the 1983 World Cup. He inspired a generation of kids to take up the game including the legendary Sachin Tendulkar who took us to new heights and our board to dominate the sport. Today if BCCI is wealthy and our cricketers are multi-millionaires, it started with us beating WI and winning the World Cup.

On quality I think he may be top 6 ever. Of course that can change, but at this moment that's invaluable.

And yes, that quality of bowler can take wickets anywhere on most tracks and are worth more than most batsmen.

Exactly why 3 of my top 6 players of all time are fast bowlers. And mostly underrated af.

Ok, but most of what you're saying is based odi's and one tournament in particular. And not much of that wins you test matches on the field and Walsh was magnitudes better as a bowler than Kapil.

There's zero scenarios where I'm picking Kapil for a test team over a Courtney Walsh..

Marshall
McGrath
Hadlee
Steyn / Ambrose
Bumrah

And mind you, when you say you're not swapping anyone for Bumrah, those 3 at the top were, even at this the peak of Bumrah's powers, better. Ambrose pre surgery and Steyn on his day as well, but especially those two at the very top....that's what dynasties are made of.

Kapil Dev the all rounder> Walsh the bowler
I mean, obviously. I am not even coounting ODIs here, but overall I don't see much of a case for Walsh over Kapil at all. I think this comp was made since India's bowling stocks were very weak in the 80s and nothing else, but Kapil was way too valuable there.
