How the hell did Lawson get the Red Bull seat over Tsunoda? He has consistently beaten all team mates in the VCARB including Lawson. Honda as the main sponsor of Tsunoda must be really pissed

afaik there hasn’t been any proper confirmation of Perez’s replacement yet…

Yuki is a Honda driver. Honda’s relationship with Red Bull ends next year. Looking ahead to the future they’d be much more likely to pick someone who can potentially stick around, and who hasn’t already clearly reached their ceiling and has the potential for future growth.

Gg Liam but I will pray for you.

Yeah Yuki got in sue to the political influence of Honda and is now limited from a seat by it. His best course was always to go hard at VCARB and target the Aston seat.

Given they're Trojan horsing into f1 next year, thought I'd note the first certified Andretti meme pitstop moment was race 1, lap 36 of 2025 indycar.

I look forward to this on the world stage in 26.

With the F1 starting in Australia in 2 weeks thought I'd update the drivers list (red for rookies and blue for experienced drivers in new team)

McLaren - Norris & Piastri
Ferrari - Leclerc & Hamilton
Red Bull - Verstappen & Lawson
Mercedes - Russell & Antonelli
Aston Martin - Alonso & Stroll
Alpine - Gasly & Doohan
Haas - Occon & Bearman
VCARB - Tsunoda & Hadjar
Williams - Albon & Sainz
Stake - Hulkenburg & Bortolito

Now that Ricciardo's retired I need a new driver so I'm going for Hamilton in his new Ferrari to be the only one that can beat Verstappen. Also going with Doohan in the Alpine as my backfield racer (was a huge fan of his Dad winning 5 Bike GP titles)

Yeah that was some…interesting stuff.

I’m not a betting man but randomly stumbled down an odds rabbithole today and F1 caught my attention. Verstappen at 4.20 and Red Bull at 8. Like, Red Bull definitely shouldn’t be favourites, and arguably Verstappen shouldn’t either… but damn if I was a betting man…

Unless they've pulled a rocket ship out their arse I don't see them winning the constructors. Lawson is unlikely to be much of an upgrade on Perez and last season showed the peril of trying to carry a shite second driver.

I would guess the opposite. Almost any half decent driver would be an upgrade on 2024 Checo

Feels like people are underestimating the turnaround teams can make between seasons.

Could anyone have predicted how much McLaren improved last year? Considering everything about the Red Bull team and their recent history, not to mention the best driver on the grid and a young gun with clear talent and a lot of drive to impress (remind you of any driver last year who won a Constructors?) its far too early to count them out and those odds seem very tempting to me.

Lawson's shtick is he is said to be very adaptable and his bouncing from F2 to SF and DTM supports this. He's never going to be a world champion because he's not even the best driver from his country, but he can drive anything and is less limited than Perez, Ricciardo or Vettel in car preference.

That's why they promoted him in the end. They'll drop him for Lindblad within 2 years if Lindblad is what he's sold to be.

Driver’s portraits are out for this year. Only one bloke has a semblance of expression.
