Come on now. Dude might be the worst batter to average 50, but he still averages 50.

And my ATG/ATVG categorization is not very strict, for example Jayawardene is an ATVG imo, and Shiv>Jaya.

iirc we had some sort of poll on this and Chanders wasn’t the top option.

From the 2024 batsman poll at least:

Chanderpaul - 49

Players with min 2000 runs (at that point) who didn’t make the list of 60

Mohammad Yousuf
Michael Hussey

Others with smaller sample sizes who didn’t make it..
