Whatever it takes!!!
Have to credit the think tank for bringing in Varun at the right time of the tournament. We give them enough brick bats, esp. this management. They deserve all the credit for this one.
True, I think it was always a question of when not if, kudos for not playing their hand too early.Have to credit the think tank for bringing in Varun at the right time of the tournament. We give them enough brick bats, esp. this management. They deserve all the credit for this one.
Words mentioned before the 2023 WC finalNobody is beating this Indian team , spinners are far too good and they know thisDubaiAhmedabad track like the back of their hand.
People said the same in 2023 WC and Travis Head happened.Nobody is beating this Indian team , spinners are far too good and they know this Dubai track like the back of their hand.
Tend to agree, India already have one hand on the trophy.Nobody is beating this Indian team , spinners are far too good and they know this Dubai track like the back of their hand.
This Australian team are also better and more aggressive players of spin compared to NZ. One thing for sure is Australia is not going to soak up dot balls like NZ did today.People said the same in 2023 WC and Travis Head happened.
Our Team has no answer to guys like Head , Klassen or Glenn Philips
Nope they just weren’t good enough (though Conway might have made a difference given his demonstrated ability against India’s spin in the past). The dotting up was because India had it on a leash, I doubt Australia would’ve gone much better.I feel NZ didn’t give their 100% to avoid AUS .
Can’t read too much in the game .
I watched from when Mitchell came in, that was an incredibly hard pitch to bat on against quality spin. I don't buy into that for a second.I feel NZ didn’t give their 100% to avoid AUS .

Do you believe NZ would have played the same way if this was a SF or Final ? I feel they wouldn’t have given up so easily . ( In last 20 overs of NZ batting)I watched from when Mitchell came in, that was an incredibly hard pitch to bat on against quality spin. I don't buy into that for a second.
If we did make the final against India (big if, I know), I'd bring back Conway as a LHer who has shown the ability to play spin in India and sets up better against Axar and Jadeja. If you were going to be truly revolutionary about it, you'd want Rachin/Conway/Latham/Bracewell all batting through that middle period
I mean, you could argue they might have had more desperation in a do-or-die game, but generally it looked to me like they were trying to win the game but were beaten by the conditions and the skill of the bowlers. Agree regarding Varun . He is a mystery bowler like Narine ( @SillyCowCorner1 What is your opinion regarding his bowling action. For starters, they probably would've given Phillips a bowl, or bowled out Matt Henry and Jamieson who India weren't exactly getting on well with, nor persist with O'Rourke (his figures are better than some of his overs suggest). Nor would they have tried to sneak Bracewell through like they did the other day, considering he was going at sixes.Do you believe NZ would have played the same way if this was a SF or Final ? “Give up” is too strong a description for NZ getting stuck - I think they would have gone harder if the target was 280+. They probably thought 250 was gettable if they took the game deep.Do you believe NZ would have played the same way if this was a SF or Final ? I feel they wouldn’t have given up so easily . Yeah I think there was a simple expectation that once Ravindra and Young were out, one of Mitchell, Latham or Phillips would stick around with Kane and get the job done. But they didn't, and India were too good with the ball. Really attacked the stumps with a tight line and used the movement off the pitch to keep the batsmen under wraps and get them with false shots, hence the high amount of LBWs.“Give up” is too strong a description for NZ getting stuck - I think they would have gone harder if the target was 280+. India bowled extremely well, would have defended 250 against most sides on that pitch. Yes it feels like a familiar story from 2023 with the bowling looking invincible now, but it was actually masterful use of the conditions. Here’s hoping for a similar pattern in the semis.
