12th Match - India v New Zealand

Both sides will be trying to lose this game to avoid Aus in the semi finals
Nah. NZ will win this and go straight to the final when the Trans Tasman SF is rained out and we are top qualifiers. Then we'll beat SA in the final when it rains then too.

Second slip please. Iyer is living off those runs down to third man so far.

Jus' fax buddy

NZ record against Australia in ICC events is horrendous no matter what conditions

Australia would be much happier to face a team that they always dominate on a flat Karachi pitch than on a slow Dubai track against India
Only lost by a handful the 2023 WC, and absolutely destroyed them in the World T20 the year before.

The larger point does stand, with a couple of glorious exceptions NZ have tended to melt at the sight of a yellow shirt in the last decade. Even that loss by a handful saw Henry completely losing the plot against Travis Head with the new ball - India can only dream of that version of MH turning up against them.

Man for man we are better and I'd rather play them in the semi than final.

Keep up momentum and maintain it.
Only bowling is more well rounded but Zampa is the best spinner/ODI bowler in the world and Head is the best all format batsman in the world. All you need is two WC players to take the game away from you.

Unlike NZ's players, they know how to win the big moments. Kinda like your rugby team each time they choke to SA in a knockout situation.

???? This is not a rugby forum, but...

1995 - We suffered food poisoning but there was no shame and no choke in losing after extra time at altitude.

1999 - SA won the 3rd/4th match. Not a knockout.

2003 - we beat them in a knockout (qf)

2015 - we beat them in a knockout (sf)

2019 - we beat them in pool play (not a knockout)

2023 - controversially we had a try disallowed and our captain red carded. We played heroically with 14 players for 60 mins. There was no shame and no choke for losing by 1 point.

We've perhaps choked in Rugby World Cups against France and Australia, but never SA. Were comprehensively beaten by England once too.

Little chat so far about the composition of India’s side, that is one spin-heavy attack. Take Shami out and it’s just Hardik’s seamers. Bound to be a talking point after the game whatever happens.

SA won the two most important games in the Rugby world cup against NZ. Period. Thats all that matters. Shatters every superior head to head or QF/semi win out of the water.

SA the greatest Rugby nation of all time!!
