11th Match - South Africa v England

England should ring the changes. Banton for Salt, Mahmood for Wood, Atkinson for Overton, and Rehan in for someone, probably Smith.

Duckett, Banton, Root, Brook, Buttler (c/wk), Livingstone, Rehan, Atkinson, Archer, Rashid, Mahmood.

They'll get smashed but it doesn't matter.

McCullum for Salt imho.

So South Africa will know exactly what they need to do to qualify before their match vs England on Saturday,
India & New Zealand are going to know exactly who finishes first or second in the other group before their final match in Dubai..

What an absolute farce of a tournament.

Wow, how dare a team know what they need to do to qualify in the last game of the group stages...how is that different to any other tournament?

Results are easier to be manipulated when you know what to do before a game starts its not rocket science really.

All final group games should be on the same day. That's what happens in football and rugby for the same reason ..

With how it is now a team could deliberately lose to get a more suitable semi final or have an unfair advantage to get a desired NRR ..

Group A escaped this conundrum with Pakistan and Bangladesh knocked out after 2 games but what if Pakistan beat NZ in game 1 by a small margin ..

You would have a situation where India are already qualified before the match vs NZ on Sunday.. they know if NZ beat them ,
Pakistan are knocked out , and if losing to NZ means they face Sa rather than Australia in a semi that's even more motivation to lose to NZ ..

You are literally tempting teams to not play with integrity with this format.

Been an issue for me for ages. Last group games should be at the same as they do in football. Rugby has the same issue.

I find the scheduling even more odd when the NZ/India group games have been played first until this final one, why? Given that they both have poor records against the Aussies, but better ones against the Saffas, there could easily be a situation where they both want to lose.

It's hard to take this tournament seriously, and it seems England didn't!! Still, they'll be missed when they depart, seeing as when they play it's the only time you get decent games it seems.

Going to be great to see the bazball "saviours of cricket" go 0-3 😉
You can't fault them for the entertainment factor!! Unfortunately, they're finding out now that we're done with this entertainment **** and we'd prefer to win the odd game. This is what was needed, hopefully it will have a positive effect not just on this team but others like the Test one too.

The whole concept mirrors BBL in that 1 game per day at the same start time, so 12 games in 12 days. Makes it easy to follow as a fan rather than 2 critical games at exactly the same time like you guys are proposing

Team approaches will be simple, win the game no matter what

As expected Buttler has stepped down as our captain after this game.
We have 3 ODI's and 3 T20's against WI end of May, early June. So we'll need someone in pretty quick, and I presume it's for the T20's too?

The IPL Final being about 4 days before probably doesn't help with selection either.

Prime time to make Salt the skipper. He shows up against his Windies brethren
