2024–25 NZ domestic season

He's probably not an opener, or really much of a white ball player, but has been a vital part in our red ball strength of the past decade.
Yeah, he's not a bad player...I've just never seen him near international quality, which some do.

This may have been posted elsewhere, but I see with SKY signing a 6yr deal with NZC, but doesn't include domestic games (ie the Super Smash)

The above is taken from this article from the Herald
A theory is that Sky doesn't want them, or won't commit to televising it all as Spark/TVNZ have. Considering they never did when they held it before, it may be plausible.
Another is that NZC wants to build the domestic game's profile & won't get that with Sky. Removing internationals puts the rights closer to TVNZ's price range (or maybe even WBD?). TVNZ still has money - they just bought LIV Golf.

Ideally, if I was NZC I'd push for a domestic rights deal to include all the One Day Finals matches - The FT & HBJS GF, & FT EF. I have the feeling that at least the HBJS GF will be pushed for in the next deal.

Can't see it, TVNZ's recent deal was heavily subsidised by Spark, and can't picture TVNZ committing to the cost of covering all SS games, the revenue intake for that from advertisers must be minimal, although not sure of the likely audience for golf either.

TVNZ are busy shedding staff and shows, but still bidding for sports rights (shrug)

The BlackClash which reached a remarkable viewing audience of touch over 1m does show that people will watch a cricket product, but the once a year Blackclash is vastly different from the daily SS offerings.

NZC would offer the SS/Domestic games for free, surely there's little financial benefit for them, but rather as mentioned above focus on the opportunity to keep building the game's profile on the domestic front.

Allen looks in absolute tatters against Tickner's back-of-a-length stuff. He missed the first four balls, and skewed away the next two for four.

Neesham hundred!

Exceptional figures for Randall too.

Interestingly placed at 239/6 after 40 overs, could get 330 or could get bundled out for 270.

Good little cameo here from Stackpole too. Neesham barely has had any strike lately but brings up the 100, his stand and deliver style definitely looks good when it works!

Neeshaw reminds me a bit of matthew wade. His overall numbers are pretty eh, but he's had some iconic moments under pressure. Streets won't forget that 30(10)* vs England in the UAE t20 WC semi, or his death bowling followed by super over batting to get NZ within inches of a WC in the 2019 final.
