7th Match - Australia v South Africa

Qlder

International Regular
Winner of this is likely through to the semi-final as they'll have 2 wins from 2 games (especially Australia as they only have to play Afghanistan after this)

While you’re always hesitant to back South Africa or write off Australia, you feel South Africa won’t be as charitable to Australia as England were, they are a proper bowling unit and you feel if they get into a position like England got into after 30 overs, they won’t get stuck in the mud but will actually kick on against Australia’s second string bowlers

May well be the game of the tournament, that.
Saf and Aus have a long term rivalry past 30 years in cricket. Hope it lives up to it's reputation

Saf have rebuilt nicely after a lot of ATG retirements in the past 10-12 years or so. Took a while but now a top team in all formats.

This will be a good contest as both teams have seam bowlers and don't rely on boring as batshit finger spinners as the main weapons in their attacks.

Its the third oldest test rivalry in cricket after the Ashes and England vs SA , SA been playing against Australia since 1902 .

Apparently, these two teams have never met before in a Champions Trophy, seems like they still may not. Forecast doesn't look like it gets much better either.

One point each would mean that one of these sides would qualify tomorrow depending on the result of the Eng/Afghan game, whilst the other will face what is effectively a tricky QF.
