like Denis Compton, Weekes had bad luck with injuries, he only got 3 tours to Australia/England, in first England tour he averaged 50+ and made 200s against Bedser and Shacketon, he went to Australia with two injuries and his final England tour came when he was facing sinusitis and had five surgeries during the tour itself.
I wouldn’t play cricket very well either if I couldn’t smell the willow and leather tbh.like Denis Compton, Weekes had bad luck with injuries, he only got 3 tours to Australia/England, in first England tour he averaged 50+ and made 200s against Bedser and Shacketon, he went to Australia with two injuries and his final England tour came when he was facing sinusitis and had five surgeries during the tour itself.
tbh I don't know why cricketers insist to play with health issues, forget sinusitis, I can have a broken toe nail and I'd intentionally play **** to get a whole tour offI wouldn’t play cricket very well either if I couldn’t smell the willow and leather tbh.
What are his numbers in his other tours?like Denis Compton, Weekes had bad luck with injuries, he only got 3 tours to Australia/England, in first England tour he averaged 50+ and made 200s against Bedser and Shacketon, he went to Australia with two injuries and his final England tour came when he was facing sinusitis and had five surgeries during the tour itself.
There’s a reason you’re not a sportsperson.tbh I don't know why cricketers insist to play with health issues, forget sinusitis, I can have a broken toe nail and I'd intentionally play **** to get a whole tour off
for who? What are his numbers in his other tours?
Hmm so Weekes gets a big buff and Compton also saves his pride.for who?
for Denis, he only played one series with an injury in 1950-51 and it was the worst series he ever had anywhere (by far), without that he averages 46.4 in Australia over 9 tests, finding success in both test and the first class arena.
Weekes only had one England/Australia series without injury, it came in 1950, he made 338 @ 56.3 with one ton and three fifties. He was monsterous in first class, obliterating a very powerful Surrey attack as well as Shackleton, people say it was one of the most impressive tours anyone had in England in a while.
Yeah both individual's away record is pretty tough/rough on their ability, some of the stuff is something you gotta have to research yourself to know.Hmm so Weekes gets a big buff and Compton also saves his pride.
Reminds me of Anderson's numbers after you remove the 2013 Ashes which he played with a broken rib. His numbers in Australia look so much better if we remove that series.
De Villiers WAG.@sayon basak Explain
Heavily heavily influenced by a single test tbf. I could also just say without his one good test in Australia he averages 22.65 over 12 matches lolfor who?
