1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Pakistan lacks fearlessness to chase 320. They might've done it against second string lineups, but this is a potent NZ attack. They had only one aggressive batter at the top and he's injured too. All others are spoiler batters who aren't going to pose much of a threat.

Seriously, 20-1 in 8 overs chasing 320 is quite pathetic. You're putting immense pressure on yourself. Babar isn't going to score at 7-8 runs an over against spin, Santner and Bracewell are very good defensive bowlers.

The issue with Pakistan is that they're a very bowling heavy side and their bowlers don't take enough wickets to make up for their impotent batting. And their batters just try to stay there and score runs for themselves.
I rate the bowling attack, but it is light on experience. Only Henry and Santner you would say are experienced white-ball bowlers.

Great opportunity for Babar now to stat pad, score a 'brisk' 50 off 90 balls and clear himself off any blame when they inevitably lose the match

To be honest I think if NZ had this bowling attack in 92 they would have won the whole thing, very very impressive bowling so far. Pakistan are getting squeezed.
Possibly, but Crowe turning to gentle medium pace plus Patel was also because the likes of Morrison were getting hit around just before that tournament. Guess it's a big what if, but Inzi and Miandad were freakishly good that day.

Nah Babar Azam is an ATG in ODI ..he will catch up, the game plan is to see O'Rourke off I reckon

A wicket is around the corner. Fakhar won't last for too long I reckon given that he can't run.
It's a shame they don't have runners anymore, that used to lead to some chaotic running between wickets where the injured batsman still tried to run.

It usually ended in a run out if the injured batsman didn't get out first trying to slog.
