Not in battingWere they though?? And even if they were, surely WI was a couple of tiers ahead so Hadlee's WI record holds more weight as well.

Yep. On batting India were ahead. It was bowling (basically Imran) that made Pakistan no 2 (or 3, again NZ carried by Hadlee)Not in batting
West Indies was superior as a batting team as well. Greenidge, Haynes, Viv, late Lloyd and Richardson is a good batting lineup, easily the best of its time. Not in batting
He meant Pakistan.West Indies was superior as a batting team as well. Greenidge, Haynes, Viv, late Lloyd and Richardson is a good batting lineup, easily the best of its time.
India had an interesting lineup. Amarnath, Gavaskar, Vengsarkar and Vishwanath were all good batters but they were never rated that highly as a batting team.
Pakistan had an above average batting too. Abbas, Miandad, Imran were good and Saleem Malik was an okay cricketer. He meant Pakistan.
Yeah Pakistan were good, but not as good as India, let alone WI.Pakistan had an above average batting too. Abbas, Miandad, Imran were good and Saleem Malik was an okay cricketer.
Hadlee played a lot against Pakistan before his county stint. His record against Pakistan after the county stint (which we know and remember as THE Richard Hadlee) is quite brilliant. 39 wickets @ 22. Though it's like the Rohit Sharma case where you can't just discount past performances just because they were on a legendary level after some time.
Basically this.Sobers and Marshall, quite easily.
Even if we keep aside all-round abilities, the difference between Sobers and Sachin as batters is much lesser as compared to that between Marshall and Imran as bowlers. Not to mention, Marshall's batting would be much more handy than Sachin's bowling.
Lol when I said to keep aside AR abilities you flipped out.Basically this.
