Kumble was worldclass on Indian wickets in the 90s. Averaged 21 at 5WPM.

Kumble in the 2000s took over 40 wickets in Aus in 7 tests. Along with that had major roles in victories in England, Pak and WI. To do that in the flat era to me is very impressive.

on 60s/Early 70s english wickets, Derek averaged 15.9

3.38 WPM. Even in the 60's and early 70's English wickets, he was taking 4.65 WPM. Personally hold WPM/WPI pretty highly for spinners.
