Had some pretty great performances tbf. Nearly man of the world cup in 2023 wasn't he?

Absolute liability in the field and with the bat though
yeah that is true, suppose combo from me of recency bias + thinking he's at the age where any dropoff could be permanent
although people me included felt the latter sentiment about smith and he's been racking up tons for fun sooooo

I think the point is hyperextension means its not voluntary and also, hyperextension or not, the legal limits are always the 15 degrees. People were found to be in that range, hyperextension or not. From McGrath to Murali...
So what? Some say it is Australia's nature to cheat, but we are not allowed to take sandpaper onto the field every game.

I understood that the hyperextension is not counted towards allowable bend. So going by that photo social posted, Bumrah is allowed 35+15 degrees of chuck. Credit to him that he doesn't bother to use the extra 15 degrees.

Nah, that is wrong. The rule clearly states its only 15 degrees, no matter what physical unorthodoxy you may have.

is zampa the best fifty over spinner in the country or is the bloke just there on name rec? feel he had a mid bbl
Had a 100 wicket peak between the 2019 wc and 2023 final where he averaged 23 @5.7 which is elite. Since the 2023 final he's got 15 wickets @33.6 and an econ of 5.7 excluding today. No idea about the pitches he's played on so wouldn't read too much into it. had a good BBL this year (12 wickets @21, econ 7.2).

Zampa is 32 ffs. That's not exactly geriatric, especially for a spinner. If he does get moved on from before the next World Cup I suspect that will be due to someone usurping him as opposed to him being pensioned off

People in a general sense are far too quick to start preparing the eulogy for players who have been through a few lean games, genuinely one of the things I hate the most about Australian cricket

What is the process for dealing with chucking when the Test is ongoing? Kuhnemann massively helped Australia to win the series. Shame there is no protocol for the umpire to tell the skipper that the guy can't bowl because he's throwing it. Otherwise, you just get a skewed result and "well, we'll deal with it later".
The umpire can literally just keep no-balling.
I think they are not allowed now. They can only report.
So you could literally debut a professional baseballer and nothing would happen until after the game?

I don't think that's right. They can still call it if they want, they're just told not to unless it's deliberate.
Reading the ICC Playing Conditions (rather than just pointlessly speculating) that replace Law 21.2-3, the umpire can only call a delivery on the field if it "does not correspond to the bowler’s normal bowling action."

This reads to me as being for one-off deliberate deliveries. In Kuhnemann's case (or Hasnain's, or Chris Green's were he to play internationals), where it is a persistent part of their bowling, they can only report.

But if you debuted a baseballer in the World Cup final and that was just his action then it's fine?
