As cricketers (batting, bowling, fielding, captaincy), which was the greater duo ?
Ian and Greg Chappell OR Steve and Mark Waugh
Put another way, which duo would you have in your team ?

Statistically,
The Chappell's have a slight edge in batting and more so in catches.
The Waugh's have a prominent lead in bowling. In captaincy, Steve lorded over the cricket world in wins, though Mark was never handed that role.
I suspect the Chappell's win the polling due to the tougher opposition they had to contend with.

Ian Chappell was arguably the greatest ever Aussie captain.

As captain, S.Waugh was known for his ' mental disintegration ' style of leadership which resulted in many victories, including a 15 win stretch. Having said that, I cannot see him seeking Mark's advice on leadership issues.

But Ian and Greg would certainly confer and advice each other on captaincy issues. So, I'm giving them the edge on captaincy. And with that my vote is for the Chappell brothers.

When Ian was called to attend a disciplinary meeting (can't recall what the infraction was), he walked in with a beer in hand and a cigarette in the other, clearly telegraphing a FU message to the committee. This could have been from that event.
