Finn Allen white ball keeper :-)
Finn Allen can bosh a dropped catch.

It's funny how many part-time or former keepers there actually are in the first choice lineup too. Conway, Macewell, Phillips can all keep (or used to) but you wouldn't trust any of them to do it on a regular basis. Finn was in that category too before he got dropped for Young.

I'm actually wondering if they'll ever go back to a "specialist" keeper-bat anytime soon considering the preference for batsman-keepers in the white ball sides.

Like they've trialled those who actually keep in domestic level like Cleaver and Hay but they seem to prefer batsman. I'm guessing they feel they can get away with it in the short form so long as they're not atrocious with the gloves.

Latham is actually pretty great with the gloves for someone who probably doesn't practice it full time. But yeah making your Test opener do it does send a certain message regardless of how he manages the task.

I was thinking about this when I saw a replay of the runout. Latham is a perfectly serviceable white ball keeper. If his skill level was that of someone like Seifert you'd think he may have been dropped by now, but in the Stead setup I'm not so sure. But with a decent lower order of finishers and in form top order he's definitely able to fly under the radar as his keeping isn't drawing attention to itself - though one NZ media outlet wrote about his place in the ODI side yesterday so time may be up for him.
