Anyway current ranking imo:

Australia
England
RSA
India
NZ
Pak
SL
WI
Bang
Ire
Zim
Afg
Unsure how Zimbabwe gets ranked above Afghanistan after just losing to them at home tbh.

Though honestly imo Afghanistan could either be 10th or 12th - depending on one player.

I think I would have to put SA in 2nd right now. Give them their due for being in the final and their recent form. They haven’t had the toughest schedule obviously, they went 0-2 in NZ and split their home series with India, but since then haven’t lost a test and are currently on a 7 win streak. Not sure how to split the next 3 tbh.

That's fair regarding Rsa. So who next?

Easily NZ next. If SA gets credit for winning streak against meh, NZ gets triple credit for whitewashing India in India. They made 8-1.6 billion people believe again.

Indian real GDP per capita growth rate at a solid 7%. Far ahead of Australia at 2.1%. South africa at 1.5A% and NZ at 1.9%. Uganda at 7.5% and they knocked off singapore, could have test status soon with those numbers.

It kind of comes down to where they play. England and India have only been beaten once at home in the last decade (ironically both to NZ). SA haven't beaten England for 13 years and haven't beaten them in SA this Century. But we know England are abysmal on turning tracks (unless it's against SL) and in Aus. I think there's precious little between Eng/SA/India in general for 2nd spot. But it perhaps seems that SA are the improving outfit whilst India are not as good as they were as old timers head off to the sunset.

The Eng/Ind series is a tough one to call this Summer, I think a lot will depend on Bumrah.

I’m hoping for a good one, but India’s batting looks extremely frail outside Jaiswal. India really needs another bowler besides Bumrah to properly fire and support.

Yeah, both sides look ripe for batting implosions. Although, England more likely to save theirs for the Ashes later in the year.
