Same scenario as before. From an average to an AT XI, which is the better combo for and brings more value to, your team.
The ATG top 5 batsman and slip fielder and most versatile bowler ever along with the GOAT fast bowler versus very arguably the Best Batsman after Bradman and the ATG fast bowler and best lower order bat.

We can even up the ante, only one combo would make said team.

This has nothing to do with the relative value of batting or bowling ARs frankly. Sobers and Imran's secondary skills are irrelevant and more or less cancel each other out.

Sobers and Marshall are simply superior as a specialist combo to Tendulkar and Imran since Marshall has a notable edge over Imran.
How are they irrelevant, and pretty sure they don't cancel each other out. And in any event that still leaves Sobers's catching.

So what would be the ideal pairing, Marshall and Sobers vs Tendulkar and Hadlee?

Hadlee's batting isn't comparable to Sobers' bowling at all.

You need a lesser bowler than Marshall closer to Imran level to make it comparable. Since Sobers is comparable to Tendulkar.

a Batsmen vs an express fast bowler at longetivity is not fair, at all.

Plus, Marshall is the Greatest bowler to ever walk the Earth, Sachin is in a heated debate with 4 other dudes for that spot.

True. Even among great fast bowlers Maco had a relatively short career.

Among great post war batsmen, the only lme who had a 20+ year career apart from Sachin was Sobers.
