Yeah Macewell seems like a better option with both bat and ball these days in comparison to Jimmy.

Thoughts on KW's innings? Was pretty turgid, but helped to stabilize things after the early double strike. Still you can't count on bagging 60 runs in the last 3 overs in every game, on another day a 50 off 80 innings on a flat deck could really cost NZ.

Think he should be at a SR of around the 80's, with his run output he's the one player you can rely on to get a score.

After losing Young in the first over he was going slower than Ravindra, and he seemed to value his wicket once Rachin got himself out. It was a good platform he established with Mitchell which allowed Bracewell and Phillips to launch later on. He had started to accelerate well before trying to be too clever with his typical soft hands late cut. Had that not happened he would've ended with a much better SR.

Macewell has been such a good white ball player for NZ for the last 4 or so years. Especially with so many of the white ball tournaments being in Asia, he has been so valuable.

The cyber bullying of him on the NZ threads several years ago for the temerity of having famous(ish) uncles (and doing the classic nz cricketer re-brand to their secondary skill) just looks more and more pathetic.

Can't say I watch (or retain memory of) all white ball cricket so I'm not in for a blow-by-blow analysis of his career. Just a vibes thing, balance thing, and a general stats take.

Very good cricketer to have in any squad.

Conway with what might end up being one of his last chances here. Hope he makes a score.

Meanwhile, we should try and play RSA in a time of year that isn't early February if it can be helped.

The 10th is clearly mid February. It's in the middle third.

You're being unbearably tainted by your jingoistic Pakistani outlook here.

Sure, in Pakistan this match began at 9.30am, which is 90 minutes past the point that delineates the boundary between the first third and second third of February. However, in South Africa it was only 6.30am at that time: the start of this match firmly preceded February's 33.33rd percentile from a braai perspective.

That this match also encompasses early mid-February in Pakistan, New Zealand, and soon to be South Africa does not preclude its classification as an early February match. These are not mutually exclusive designations! I hope your snide remarks are more thought out in the future.
