The other grounds are being used for white ball cricket, it's cost saving to use 1 test venue seeing that we only play 2 test seriesIs there any reason why SL have stopped playing home tests outside Galle?
only play a few tests each year and specialise in other formats these days(T20 mainly)Is there any reason why SL have stopped playing home tests outside Galle?
Wow talk about reactionary. Earlier today you had Connolly locked in batting 7 in the Ashes with Webster and Inglis fighting it out for the #6 spotSince Connolly has failed, itll be Green At #3 for the Ashes with Konstas to open. Connolly isnt test material, never was- what was this selection about. His left arm spin isnt even state or 2nd XI standard..sheesh. Selectors have been dreaming.
Inglis , too injury prone to be a long term test material imho.
Beau webster is ok. At worst he can grind a 30 ,he atleast values his wicket.
Yep i have changed my mind. i got it wrong. IT will be konstas to open and Webster at #7 for the Ashes most likely given his form in the Sydney test and reasonable returns here, he looks good in tough conditions.Wow talk about reactionary. I think it does for fast bowlers. Hughes was best when he was slimmest, and he, Harris and Flintoff were all heavily built guys who probably carried a few more kilos than necessary. All their careers ended early due to knee problems. It is a bit of a joke. I agree re the point about weight but was wondering if there's an exception for fast bowlers, particularly stamina and speed. Though Merv Hughes carried weight and it didn't seem to impact his effectiveness. May have curtailed his career though.
Mate come on. They’re playing like busteds. Would not be surprised if there’s some issues in that camp tbh.You can't just write off this lankan batting outfit. They've been poor so far, but a top 6 with a young opener averaging 38 after 15 tests, 2 guys averaging 40 with 12-15 tons, 2 guys averaging ~44 with 15+ tons, young bloke who just broke bradman's record for fastest to 1000 test runs and a keeper at 7 averaging 37 with 10+ tons is something you can't just write off, especially at home.
