Does this hypothetical Test allrounder exist?

Don't think Shakib was good enough to raise a need to change the parameter imo.

And I guess the thread asks for players with the stats in a full career, Shakib meets neither of the batting or bowling parameter
I don't care about Shakib I'm just triggered by Athlai's blatant and negligent disregard for numbers and how they are expressed and equated

I know it says Tests, but Miller and Sobers far exceeded the OP criteria in FC cricket (Faulkner didn't)

Miller: Bat 48.90, bowl 22.30 and 2.2 wpm
Sobers: Bat 54.87, bowl 27.74 and 2.7 wpm

Not Terrible
Bowlers that average 31 = 30.50-31.49
Bowlers that average less than or equal to 31 = 0.00-31.00
Yeah this is more or less what I'm implying here. There is no real purpose to say >=31 because no one would actually average 31.000000 for the discussion.

I'll need to check the rounding, there probably is a reasonable chance his average was under 31 during that match for a moment.
Shakib averaged less than 31 from 4.30pm in Zim's 2nd innings till a bit after lunch the next day. There was also a drop in that time which would have resulted in him averaging less than 31 at the end of the game which is kind of funny.

Imran Khan averaging 37 with the bat and 22 with the ball @4 WPM is better than these parameters ..
Yup, so is Garry Sobers at 58 , 34 and 2.5 WPM. That's not really the point of this thread. It's interesting that there's never been a true middle ground between those superlative batting all-rounder / bowling all-rounder levels, even if you set the bar as modestly as I did.
Decimal point significant figures pedantry aside, I think these posts cover the essence of why I conceived the thread. For a "balanced" all-rounder between Sobers and Imran to have comparable level of impact as either of them you'd probably actually need something like 45~46 batting average, 28.00 bowling average, and >3 WPM. Modern history of cricket shows that as basically unattainable.

Even the ones getting closest to reaching my more modest hurdles in more recent years are conditions dependent finger spin all-rounders, which could be caveated if they're not a play every match player.

Shakib still doesn't qualify tho. <=31 doesn't mean 31 only, it means 31 or less. If he averaged 30.99, then he'd qualify.

Aubrey Faulkner has done it. Sundar, if he retires today would have it and Alan Fairfax has it too although both of them have only played around 10 tests.
Faulkner has 25 tests only as well
He's an interesting one to watch, for sure. Being an every match as opposed to conditions dependent player would be the questionmark for him. He played 5/8 matches in NZ and Aus series so yeah, will be interesting to see how/if that changes for the future.

Was Hazare a batting all-rounder standard bowler in Tour matches and Unofficial Tests or is it really just bashing on poor FC Indian line-ups??
