Which team would win

Murali and Warne were unplayable in the right conditions and really difficult to face otherwise on any given day. Surely people watched them bowl right?

They provided as big a challenge to opposition as any pacer. In fact, because they could bowl all the time, batters had no respite. They would come at you again and again and break any partnership eventually and then have a shot at running through the rest. A fast bowler cannot do that. They bowl their 6-7 overs and need a rest for 1-2 hours . So batters have the option of playing a pacer out. They cannot do that against a ATG spinner. And some days you just don't pick them right and you perish regardless of how good you are.

An ATG spinner at one end and ATG pacers rotating from the other end is the perfect bowling partnership as alternating between high level pace and high level spin is the hardest adjustment.

You seem weirdly agitated about me suggesting O Reilly is in the Warne class, O Reilly can't do anything if the second world war interrupted his career, even during the second world war, his output in the Australian first class was extremely high, and sheffield pitches of this era were so flat that 60+ average was common

his technique wasn't exposed, he wasn't found out, he just had bad luck, on the other end luck shined on Warne and Murali, because no world war 2 and O Reilly is the GOAT spinner while the other two fight fot #2 spot, due to world war II he falls to number 3 but definitely much more in class of Warne and Murali than in the class of the #4 best spinner, whoever that may be.
I don't rate cricketers from that era very highly anyway so ofcourse I won't have him in the same sentence as Murali and Warne.

Warne and Murali played in the professional era with better fitness tho

Barnes is the other slow bowler that would be around the level of those three
Barnes is arguably better than Warne/Murali. I don't rate him higher, but he definitely has an argument to be closer to Marshall/McGrath/Hadlee than to Warne/Muralitharan.

And Barnes is definitely better than O'Reilly (sadly).

That true. On balance he still has the edge over Warne given the epicness of 2001.

I never said they dominated him (except Malik in 1994) but they did do well and on balance had the wood over him, which is what I expect Sobers and Viv to do.
Fine, be stubborn as **** on this point. Dennis Lillee will get Richards out for 38, which was Richard's average against Lillee in WSC. I'll leave it to McGrath to make Sobers his bunny if not Lillee. Lara is McGraths bunny so that will leave Warne to wreak havoc on the remaining 8 players.

On the batting side, are we expecting Waugh before he shelved his hook, or after. If its after, Windiest are ****ed before gilly gets to them. In fact, because of his battles with the Windies from meh, to shining light, I think Waugh will ruin their bowling. He discovered that you just have to be tough and wear a few and then they lose their **** and then they lose. He will share this with the team.

If you are talking overall teams, it will be a close contest.
