Which team would win

centurymaker

Cricketer Of The Year
2-1 West Indies.

That pace attack alone will ensure victory. Two of them are giants and impossible to play or score against, while Marshall is arguably the best ever. Even the very best will struggle badly against this attack.

The addition of Ambrose makes a big difference. It's a far stronger quartet!

Real question, Miller has no job at 8. Replace him with Lindwall and WI don't really have any pace advantage as well.
Marshall ~ McGrath
Ambrose > Lillee
Holding ~ Lindwall

WI is slightly ahead as pacers, but Warne for Gibbs makes overall bowling woefully in favour of Australia.

if you take out Bradman then I don't really know how Australia is supposed to win anywhere in the world but a Current India-like dustbowl or Sydney

This is an interesting methodology, World War II ended in 1945, Cricket resumed in 46 and Lindwall debuted in 46 and you went for a lineup at the end of Lindwall's first run...
The top 5 of 48 Ashes:
Hutton
Washbrook
Edrich
Compton
Hardstaff

Blows any current line-up and the one Holding played way out of water. It was a poor argument given how high scoring the 40s were and the fact Hutton and Compton led a group of good Test batters.

Windies had **** batsmen to intimidate the world over with that bowling. Maybe one great in each team. And they only had to contend with mediocre bowling on the whole.
Australia 5-0 because McGrath would say so and back it up.
