The difference between the top players in this woman’s comp and the rest is a joke. Each team relies on about 2 or 3 players the rest just make up the numbers
Absolutely. Some appear to be actually quite inept at cricket, as borne out by their very low averages and strike rates. Batting is the harder or should I say more valuable discipline in womens cricket because being a real shot maker seems to be a rarity. Whereas the bowlers are often picking up wickets due to inept batting rather than doing anything special with the ball.

Gutted. Very disappointing especially as Craig Cumming is going - beat them twice in regular season, and absolutely dominate Hallyburton Johnstone but lose like that

“If she hits a boundary and then a six, we are heading for a super over!”
Sumo, there was more chance of pigs flying than that happening.

Is our womans game growing? The u19's lost to Nigeria a few weeks back. Still a very big difference between us the top teams internationally
by all accounts it's growing massively at age group level - I think we're heading towards the stage where we start genuinely attracting top athletes away from other sports like Australia does. I think there's still a bit of 'girl's club'-ness at domestic and international level due to the lack of pressure on their position but that's mostly a matter of growing the talent pool.

edit: to clarify the current U19s are still products of (no offense to them and no fault of their own) a relatively small and uncompetitive women's cricket scene, wheras the talent pool of players in the 10-15 year range has been increased massively which will take 5-10 years to start filtering through into the adults. Australia are close to two decades ahead of the curve on this.

I reckon with some players, hitting just isn't their thing - they don't have the tempo or the right shape to do it. That's Hay, I reckon. No reason he can't be the best Test keeper

but why do we all love Lennox then
Good point...LA spinners are different I reckon. Not sure why. Like they actually try to turn it but can't.

My phobia is from seasons in England where the most dangerous bowler on a wet pudding of a wicket was the 50 year old guy with a beer gut, takes 7-for with his nudes, then heads into the bar for warm piss in 30 degree heat.

thinks it's left hander privilege tbh. bowl nude darts with your right arm you're a hack. Do it with your left suddenly it's exotic and intelligent.
