**Official** Australia in Sri Lanka Jan - Feb 2025

Just read the most ridiculous comment ever on cricinfo. They posted someone's comment that Australia won't care if this is a draw as the WTC final is already decided.

As if Australia even think about WTC during a Test match...they'll just want to win

Its tropical. SL. very wet. Lately due to global warming, the monsoon time has been changing and happening outside of monsoon, which is now.
Sri Lanka not keeping up with the science by failing to reschedule tests in the monsoon season. The nutjob conspiracy theory denialists keep scheduling tests now and as a consequence I have to watch I'm a celebrity get me out of here.

Stumps. Forecast isn't very promising for the next 2 days either. We'd be lucky to get 4 sessions

Draw looks the most likely tbh

the great thing about Sydney is if the cricket is washed out there’s 8,426,734 other great things to do. In Galle you sit under an umbrella at the ****ing fort.

There's quite an extensive shopping area around the Fort too (many jewellers), and as having been there with 3 women, can confirm that the brolly in the rain option is definitely better!!

Galle is in wet zone with average rainfall of 2400mm with no dry season. This is not monsson, it is thunderstorms. For North and East 3/4 of the country it is the fag end of the north eastern monsoon.. Then from May to September South Western monsoons sets in. Sri Lanka is one of those very rare countries rain is brought by two monsoons. Japan, Philliphines, Taiwan are few other exceptions.

Australia are deserving to be dictating terms. We had been so poor with ball, bat , field and keeping.
captraining
Kusal Mendis is useless. He has to go. Failed to catch, failed to call reviews, and even if he bats out of his skin tomorrow and scores 100, he should not keep. Chandimal or some other keeper has to be brought in.

DDS was poor in captaining. Drops sitters and lets everyone forget it by taking a blinder per match. His catching technique id faulty, but superb hand eye coordination bails him out. He and Kamindu Mendis are pretty good spinners for part timers. Never bowled them!

I am not sure what Nishan Peiris is doing there. Slightly more accurate than Ramesh Mendis, but fails to produce that deliveries bites and jumps that puts doubt in to batsmen. Actually on this wicket Lahiru Kumara would have been a better choice, bowling fast and in short spells, while DDs and Kamindu Mendis filling up rest of the overs

If we get to 250, I will be surprised, and other than for weather, if we managed to pull this off, it would be a minor miracle.

Actually, February is the driest month in Galle.
