Did Snow have injury problems? I find it crazy how many overs these older bowlers bowled. They probably would have had better careers playing today with central contracts.

Would someone like Bumrah have had a full test career (assuming he does) if he also had to take 1000 wickets in domestic first class cricket?
Some of Snow's disagreements with coaches&selectors were rooted in his theory that he was being overbowled. Those people were accustomed to bowlers that were 10mph slower so I suspect there was some truth-speaking on his part. I think he did also pick up some injuries yeah.

Being rested in so many home tests perhaps wasn't convenient for Bumrah's average given how skilled he is in those conditions. However, not all greats had the luxury of such careful workload management. A weaker side in the older days may have pushed hard for more games&overs. Could he have survived Hadlee's toil for instance?

looks decently quick, I'd expect someone with apparently a flexible body, large frame and that action to have some pace. even though clearly not express

@BazBall21 How fast do you reckon Snow and Willis were? apparently Statham could bowl 140kmph while in sweaters.
I reckon Snow was one of those that operated frequently in the mid-80s but had a quicker bumper that he didn't overuse. Got some lift off the pitch with that upright action too.

Yeah I agree, Statham and Snow seem similar in speed, decently quick but not really express. Statham sounds more and more like a Hazlewood from 1950s-60s, Accurate, seams off the pitch, does everything right but not really as spectacular as his partner.

Snow a bit quicker than Statham I think.

All 3 are in Englands all time top 10 in my opinion.

Trueman
Statham
Willis
Anderson
Snow
Larwood
Barnes
Broad
Botham at his best was top 10 in his peak years,

these are my top 9 , the 10th spot could be one of many,

They are not in any particular order, and why is it bizarre ?
If this is not in particular order, then this is pretty okay. Anderson>Statham/Willis/Snow, and Barnes is better than all of them. And Larwood should be higher imo.

Where's Bedser? He should also be higher than Snow/Willis/Statham

I did say they are not in order, Bedser was very good and in a group of about 12 others that could make a claim to being a top 10 England all timer, but i can not see him being better than the 9 i have posted,

Bedser is definitely better than Botham.

And I said the list is okay as it is not in order.
